Everything, Everything

Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon Rating: 1 Star

DNF 35%

I tried really hard to like this book but it just wasn't for me.

Full detailed review coming soon.

The Dead House

The Dead House - Dawn Kurtagich Rating: 2 Stars

DNF 35%

Again another weird book by Ms Kurtagich. The beginning started off good and interesting and slowly when downhill from there. I personally didn't like all the various ways of the story being told. It was too busy and very confusing...there are newspaper articles, video recordings, diary entries, dreams....Wayyy to much going on here. I think it would have been a great story if the author would have stuck to one way of telling the story...that's just my opinion.

The Watch That Ends the Night: Voices from the Titanic

The Watch That Ends the Night: Voices from the Titanic - Allan Wolf Rating: To Come

I am beyond excited to read this extremely unique book about the legendary Titanic. It is told in 24 point of views including a ship rat and the tragic iceberg. The entire story is told as a very long free-verse poem with makes the story even more intriguing.

I have always been fascinated with the historic Titanic. I've seen the movie, that stars Leonardo DiCaprio, countless times. I have been to various museums. But, I have yet to find that one book that speaks to the true events and brings it to life. I hope this book is the one.

Please Note: This is an out-of-publication book. There also is no ebook for this book as there are features to the book that does not allow it to be digitally copied such as many line breaks and slanting (hence imitating the ship sinking).

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister - Gregory Maguire Rating: To Come

Thank you to the publisher for hosting this book as a Goodreads giveaway, which I am excited to have won!

I am so excited to read this retelling for the classic Cinderella. Growing up, I'm 19 now, I loved Cinderella, probably my favorite Disney princess. She just had a humble way about her even in spite of being treated like a slave to her stepmother and evil stepsisters.

"Have Courage and Be Kind." is the quote I always associate with Cinderella. When you think about it, it has so much meaning and power.

But being that I'm older it would be interesting read Cinderella in the point of view of the stepsister(s). I am really excited to read this novel and soon! I wonder what moral I will take away from this retelling.

Stalking Jack the Ripper

Stalking Jack the Ripper - Kerri Maniscalco Rating: 4.5 Stars

Wow, just wow. The ending was totally and completely shocking. I did NOT see that coming. It took me a long time to read this book as there were times when the story seemed to be lagging on. Dare I say, I almost didn't finish but I am SO glad I kept going because that ending is what made the story! I almost don't believe it!!

Out of The Easy

Out of The Easy - Ruta Sepetys Rating: To Come

I am so excited to get this book, I bought it online a few days ago and am desperate to get my nose in this book. I loved Ms. Sepetys other books, Salt to the Sea and Between Shade of Gray. This woman writes the most amazing stories full of heart and tragedy. It is such a pleasure to read her books even though the subject matter is anything but pleasurable. She writes from the heart, and you can tell in her writing style.

Twilight

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer Rating: 1 Star

DNF: 28%

Ohhh, don't get me started on how much this book made me want to dig my eyes out. Oh Bella why did you have to fall head over heels with a single glance? Bella, why did you have to be the worst possible character. There is so much about this book that I just don't get. I really wanted to like this book, I tried really hard but I just could get the feels for this book. Gosh, the movie was sorta better than the book. But Bella is totally annoying to read and even watch, I mean if she's deep in love with Edward you think she would at least light up with a smile when she sees him. Gosh she walks around like a depressed zombie more than half the time.

description

Are you seriously kidding me??? This is a conversation, supposedly flirting, between Bella and Edward. (Bella: "You're like really pretty.") What?! You call this flirting?!? I would never say this to another guy, ever, period! It's immature dialogue like this that makes this book SO extremely annoying!!

Sorry Mrs. Meyer, the concept of the story was great and would make for a great book but Bella totally ruined it for me.

Never Say Die

Never Say Die - Anthony Horowitz OMG I am so excited! There is going to be an 11th book?!?! YESSSSSSS!! And the Alex Rider series continues...

Pearl Weaver's Epic Apology

Pearl Weaver's Epic Apology - Rachel Keener Rating: To Come

*Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!*

I have not read this book yet but I am doing a "preread" review as I do for most of the books I read.

Let me start off my review by saying "I love this cover!!!". It is absolutely stunning. This cover, hands down, is my favorite so far. It's just totally creative, yet simply portrayed, it just draws you in. If I were to give a rating based solely on the cover, I'd give it 10+ stars.

Based on the synopsis, I am super excited to dive into this book. I don't think I have ever read anything with this kind of a story line but it sounds like it will be an 'epic' adventure.

All She Ever Wanted

All She Ever Wanted - Lynn Austin Rating: To Come

**Please note, I have not read this book yet.**

Soooo, I found this book at my local thrift store, that I tend to frequent and buy from often. So while browsing through their large selection of second hand books, I came across this catchy title. When I pulled it down from the shelf I was stunned to see such a beautiful cover. Now, let me first say that I am largely attracted to beautiful covers. I find that the more beautiful the cover, the more I enjoy the book. I know, weird right?! Anyway, I bought this book solely on the fact that had a beautifully vintage cover, and I could not walk away without having this book in my possession. When I got home, and searched it on Goodreads, I was happy to find that not only does it have a gorgeous cover but that it is historical Christian fiction novel centered around a 4 generation family with secrets. Wow, I feel like I just hit the jackpot of a book. I cannot wait to dive into this book. It seems like the perfect book to read on a summer day while laying on the sundeck of boat drinking and iced tea.

Full review to come upon completing.

**Please note for my blog viewers, this is not a YA novel.**

The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery that Holds the Secret of America's Future

The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery that Holds the Secret of America's Future - Jonathan Cahn Rating: 5 Stars

Let me first say that this is NOT a fiction based book. Every detail in this book is real and based upon scripture in the Bible and real events. That said, it is a very intriguing book. You will seriously get goosebumps by reading this. It is remarkable and eyeopening how the Biblical prophesy from the book of Isiah is directed related to the 9/11 attack and the 2008 stock market crash and America's future.

"As the story unfolds, each revelation becomes another piece in a larger and larger puzzle, the ramifications of which are, even now, altering the course of America and the world."

What I liked most about this book, not relating to general message, is the way the book is written. I thought that the 'novel w/ dialogue' adaptation made the overall message easier to read and more engaging.

Overall a great read. I HIGHLY recommend!

Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog

Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog - John Grogan Rating: 4 Stars

I read this book quite a few years so I don't remember a whole lot about it. But I do know that it was a great story, I laughed, I cried. It was amazingly touching book.
